Materials

A variety of fabric ribbons, all colors and widths scissors needle and thread music

Instructions

1. Cut the ribbons into pieces large enough to fit over a child's hand and around the wrist.

2. Sew the ends of each ribbon piece together to form wristbands.

3. Cut the rest of the ribbons into 3' long pieces. Sew different numbers of ribbons to the wristbands. One, two, or three pieces to each band will be fine. Make enough for the whole class and any adults.

4. At large group time, each child and adult chooses a wristband.

5. Play some music and encourage the children to flutter freely.

6. If desired, call different sets of children to dance by the color of their ribbons, shirt, shoes, and so on.
