Instructions

What to do
1. To prepare, divide the bottom of an egg carton into four sections, providing each child with
three compartments. Give each child a section of the carton with the bottom of the carton facing
up.
2. Have the children paint the carton white to represent their teeth.
3. When the cartons are dry, give each child a piece of yarn.
4. Talk to the children about how they should care for their teeth. Show them how to floss their
egg carton teeth by wrapping the ends of the yarn around their fingers and sliding it between
the compartments of the egg carton.
More to do
More art: Create a poster or collage by drawing an outline of two rows of teeth; collect pictures
or wrappers of healthy foods and glue them within the outline. Create a second poster with pictures
of unhealthy foods.
Snack: Plan a healthy and sugarless menu for a special occasion in class. Talk to the children
about why sugar is bad for their teeth.
