Instructions

1. Tell the children that they are going to do a "spring cleaning" in their
classroom. Explain that many people give their homes a thorough cleaning
at the beginning of spring to make a fresh start.
2. Select a few children to help clean each center.
3. Encourage the children to clean using dust rags, water, and cloths. Ask them
to remove toys from shelves, dust the shelves, and return the toys after
cleaning.
4. An adult should oversee the cleaning to be sure there are enough cleaning
materials in each center and to point out areas that still need to be cleaned.
5. The children may continue at outdoor time on this day or another day by
bringing chairs outside and washing them in the play yard. They can rinse
them with a hose and dry them with rags or cloth.
6. Add new plants or flowers to the classroom to welcome spring!
