Feathers, one for each child

Straws, one for each child

Instructions

1. Talk with the children about air.

2. Let the children put their hands to their mouths and blow to feel the air on their hands.

3. Explain that they are going to use air to play a game.

4. Give each child a straw with a feather placed in one end.

5. At the count of three, the children blow into their straws and see whose feather flies the farthest.More to doArt: Let the children paint with feathers and tempera paint.Math: To work math into the feather experiment, measure the distance each feather went and make a graph with your results.
