Instructions

* Thanksgiving is celebrated the fourth Thursday of November.

  1. Brainstorm with the children about Thanksgiving foods.
  2. Divide the white board or easel paper into three columns. Label each column with a food.
  3. Ask the children to mark the column with their favorite food.
  4. Discuss the graph using mathematical terms, such as most, least, equal, less, and so on.
  5. Make a graph of favorite Thanksgiving pies.

Books: Ask the children to draw pictures of their favorite foods. An adult can label them. Children can also cut out favorite foods from magazines and glue the pictures to paper. Make a "favorite foods" class book.
