Materials

Tagboard or heavy paper (for patterns)

pencils

orange construction paper

scissors

yellow or white lunch bags

23mm wiggle eyes

white glue

white or yellow paper

spring stickers, optional

Instructions

1. Make patterns for a duck head (circle), feet, and bill.
2. Help each child trace two feet and a bill on orange
paper and cut them out.
3. Also help each child trace
the head on a lunch bag
and cut it out (save the
cut-out piece to make a
tail).
4. Demonstrate how to fold
out both sides of the bag
(where the head was cut
out). This forms the
duck's two wings when
the bag is open.
5. Encourage the children to
glue on wiggle eyes, the
bill (folded in half),
and feet.
6. Cut out 1 1/2 " x 9" strips from white or yellow paper and glue them to the bags
to make handles.
7. If desired, let the children attach spring stickers to their bags.
8. Show the children how to make a tail by folding down the flap of the saved
paper scrap and gluing it on the back of the bag.
9. Help the children write their names on the handle of their bags. If desired, let
them fill their bag with goodies.
