Materials

Ice cube trays Water

Small toys Bowl of water or water table

Instructions

1. Fill the ice trays with water and place one small toy in each section of the ice tray.

2. Freeze the ice trays for two to three hours and then release the ice cubes into a bowl ofwater or a water table.

5153. Allow the children to play with the ice cubes until toysbecome visible. After the ice has melted, discoverwhat's inside.

4. Allow the children to choose a small object or toy to place in the ice trayand refreeze the tray after filling it with water.

5. Place the ice cubes in the water table again and repeat the activity.More to doMovement: Make a tiled surface into a skating rink. Place colored tape in an oval or circleshape on the floor. Play classical music and allow the children to take off their shoes and skatearound the rink in their socks. Make the shape large enough for a number of children to skateat the same time.Snack: Enjoy frozen juice pops for snack. Mix a package of powdered drink mix in a pitcher andthen pour it into empty ice trays. Put the trays in the freezer for 30 minutes, then add a popsicle stickto each section and freeze for another hour and a half. Pop out the cubes for a cool snack! You canalso use paper cups instead of ice trays for this treat. Just cut away the cup and eat!
