Instructions

1. Put out wrapping paper, scissors, and tape in advance. Depending on the
children's developmental level, you might want to precut different sizes of
wrapping paper ahead of time or let them do it themselves.
2. Pre-select a basketful of toys and prizes for the children to wrap, or let them
pick items from the shelves at the school to wrap.
3. Encourage the children to wrap the items, helping them as needed.
4. Let each child give a "gift" to another child, or save the gift for group time to
play a guessing game. Let each child take turns holding up her wrapped
item as the other children guess what it is. Whoever guesses what it is can
unwrap it. Otherwise the child who wrapped it opens it up.
5. Any book about giving or friendship would be appropriate for this activity.
