What to do
1. Help the children squirt about 1/2 cup (125 mL) of shaving cream into their zip-closure bags.
2. When they are ready, ask the children to choose two of the colors. Have them add five or six
drops of each color to the shaving cream.
3. Show the children how to squeeze the excess air from their bags and zip them closed.
4. Seal the edge with masking tape, if desired.
5. Invite the children to gently squish the bag in their hands to mix the shaving cream and food
coloring. Have them identify the new color they made.
More to do
Science: Make predictions about the combinations and record them on a colorful chart. After the
experiment is finished, record the results.
