Instructions

1. Read Is It Red? Is It Yellow? Is It Blue? Discuss the signs and the different colors.

2. Ahead of time, prepare six magnifying glass patterns for each child. Help the children create their own red, blue and yellow magnifying glasses at their desks.

3. For each magnifying glass, use two magnifying glass patterns. Place one magnifying glass down and glue along the round part of the magnifying glass and handle.

4. Place a piece of cellophane down on the magnifying glass. Then glue around the second magnifying glass, and place on top of the first magnifying glass and cellophane.

5. The children cut the excess cellophane from around the magnifying glass.

6. Repeat this process, making magnifying glasses with each of the other two colors.

7. Using these magnifying glasses, the children view the things in the classroom as blue, red and yellow.

8. Point out to the children that they can create other colors by placing the magnifying glasses on top of one another.More to doMath: Create a class graph titled "Our Favorite Colors."
