Materials

1/2 cup (125 g) sugar

1/2 cup (75 g) cinnamon

Measuring cup

Spoons

Bowl

Bread

Plastic knives or butter knives

Soft butter or margarine

Cookie sheets

Wax paper or foil

Oven (adult only)

Instructions

1. Cut out a large sun and moon from poster board.
2. During circle time, have a discussion with the children about things we do
during the day and things that happen at night.
3. Go outside with the children. Hang the sun on one side of the playground
and the moon on the other.
4. Explain to children that when you give them a clue, they should carefully run
to where they think they should be, either under the sun or moon.
5. Following are some examples of clues. Ask, "Where should you be when...?"
* Your parents are asleep?
* You are eating lunch?
* You have on your pajamas?
* You are at preschool?
* You need to turn on lights to see?
