Instructions

What to do
1. Have the children push a pretzel stick into a marshmallow. Make sure the pretzel is secure in
the marshmallow, but still long enough to use as a handle.
2. Melt the chocolate in a microwave oven. Let it cool slightly, but not harden.
3. Invite the children to dip their marshmallows into the chocolate and place them on the wax
paper. They can then use sprinkles or small candies for decorating.
4. Let the chocolate harden, then lift from the wax paper. The decorated marshmallow pop is
ready to eat.
More to do
Health and safety: Teach them kitchen safety, such as how to use potholders and the importance
of letting hot food cool.
Snack: Let the children get creative and think of other foods that would taste good bathed in
melted chocolate (cookies, donuts, popcorn balls).
