Instructions

What to do
1. Take the children outside to a park or field on a windy day. This is a lot of fun on a warm, fall day
when lots of leaves are blowing in the wind.
2. Give each child a sheet of contact paper with the protective backing removed.
3. Show the children how to hold the sheet open, with the sticky side facing away from them.
4. Invite them to run and play in the wind, twirling and dancing, while holding the contact paper.
They can hold the paper over their heads, in front of them, or swing it from side to side.
5. Tell them they can try to catch some of the things that the wind picks up and tosses around,
such falling leaves, or they can just wait and see what surprises the wind blew on to their sticky
paper.
6. Back in the classroom, tape the sheets of contact paper on to poster board and display.
