chart calendar
numerals on two different shapes for the months

Instructions:

1. Each morning during circle time, look at the calendar.
2. When talking about the day of the week and the date, ask the children to
name the next day’s date.
3. Create a pattern and ask the children to continue with the pattern each day
of the week. For example: In January, use blue mittens and white snowflakes
and create the pattern of three snowflakes followed by one mitten. This
means that January 1st, 2nd, and 3rd would have snowflakes, the 4th would
have a mitten, then snowflakes again on the 5th, 6th, and 7th, and so on.
