Materials

Brown paper lunch bags, one for each child blue or black marker assorted objects that start with B, one for each child one large basket bunny ears (one set to pass around or one set for each child)

Instructions

1. Write "Bb" in blue or black marker on each paper lunch bag. Place one "B" object into each bag and fold the top down several times.

2. Ask the children to sit in a circle with a basket in the center.

3. Give each child a bag. Instruct them not to open the bags until it is their turn.

4. Point out that the words brown, bag, blue, and black all start with "B."5. Teach this chant:Bunnies are bringing bunches of Bs.What did you bring in your bag, Bunny?6. Place the ears on the first child, or if they have their own ears point to a child. The class repeats the chant and the child opens his bag, removes the object, names it, and places it in the basket.

7. If you have one set of ears, pass them around to another child, or point to another child already wearing ears. Repeat the chant and see what is in the next bag. Keep repeating until everyone gets a turn.
