What to do
1. Tell about an injury, or boo-boo, you have had and ask the children to describe one of their
own. Write down each of their stories on a separate piece of paper.
2. Give each child paper and a bandage strip. Ask the children to draw a picture of themselves,
showing an injury, then apply the bandage to their picture.
3. Assemble the stories and pictures in a book and display the book in the classroom. The book
may be taken apart at a later date, and the pictures and stories sent home individually.
More to do
Language: Take turns sending the book home with the children to read with their families.
More art: Trace the outline of each child's body onto large paper. Have the children color in their
outline, draw a boo-boo, and apply a bandage to it.
