Instructions

1. Children learn so much through their senses. Let them feel what
sticky is.
2. Place a large piece of contact paper on the floor with the sticky side
up. Secure it to the floor with tape or by turning the edges over so it
sticks to the floor.
3. Let the children crawl on the contact paper and explore the sticky
feeling. Older toddlers can take off their shoes and socks and walk on
the paper.
4. For added "sticky" fun, put a piece of contact paper on a table in front
of a child. Secure it to the table with tape. Help the child put cotton
balls, yarn, tissue paper, and other items on the sticky contact paper.
5. Be sure to describe what the children are doing in the activity, including
their facial expressions and actions.
More to do Give the children sticky tape to hold in their hands. Watch closely so they
do not put it into their mouths.
Dramatic Play: Pretend with toddlers that they have something sticky on
their hands. Show them what it would be like if their sticky hands got
stuck to their head, their leg, their arm, and so on.
