Materials

Baking aprons or smocks 3/4 cup (175 ml) cornmeal3/4 cup (175 ml) flour 1/2 cup (125 ml) sugar1 1/2 teaspoon (7.5 ml) baking powder 3/4 cup (175 ml) milk1/4 cup (60 ml) oil 1 egg

Large bowl Mixing spoon

Measuring cups and spoons Muffin tins

Muffin papers or oil Oven

Instructions

1. Ask the children to wash their hands and put on baking aprons.

2. Show them how to measure first the dry ingredients and then the wet ingredients into the bowl. Let them take turns so everybody has a chance to measure and/or add an ingredient. Mix well to combine.

3. Put muffin papers in muffin tins, or lightly oil the tins. Then fill muffin tins 2/3 full.

4. Bake in an oven at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes. Eat and enjoy!
