Materials

Look Inside Your Body by Denice Patrick

For each child you will need:Large brown grocery sack Hanger

String Dried hollow noodles or straw sections

Tagboard circle Gray yarn

Red balloon Two oval sponges

Brown yarn Masking tape

Instructions

1. Read the book about the body.

2. Cut up the middle of a grocery bag and in a circle around the bottom.

3. Write (child's name) Body on the outside of the bag.

4. Bend and attach a hanger to the inside of the bag.

5. String noodles or straw sections, and hang them from the hanger to form a spine.

6. Decorate the tagboard circle to look like a child's head. Glue a gray yarn brain to the top of the head.

7. Blow up the red balloon to heart size, tie it off and attach it to the inside of the bag with masking tape.

8. Hot glue two oval sponges to the inside of the bag to form lungs. Sponges must be completely dry.

9. Glue brown yarn intestines near the bottom inside of the bag.More to doBookmaking: Create "All About Me" books with name, family picture, self-portrait, home, address, etc.Circle time: Learn fingerplays about the body.Games: Exercise the body when you discuss the heart.Math: Graph children by characteristics such as eye color, hair color, etc.
