Instructions
1. Collect a variety of science items and place them on individual trays.
2. Place the trays on the table so that the children can use the items in a specific
area. Putting the trays on one table allows the teacher better supervision and
direction with the use of the materials.
3. Suggestions for the tray include:
* Sink and float items with a small plastic container of water.
* Magnets and items that are magnetic and nonmagnetic.
* Color paddles and watercolor paints.
* Small plastic cups with red, blue, and yellow water and eyedroppers
for color mixing and exploration.
* A bucket balance and items to be weighed with another item that
serves as a weight measure (such as teddy bear counters).
* Items for visual exploration, such as binoculars, kaleidoscope, and so on.
