Instructions

1. Read Ten Apples Up on Top by Dr. Seuss.

2. In advance, prepare 3" wide paper strips for each child, making them long enough to fit as headbands.

3. Encourage the children to trace the apple patterns on green, red, and yellow paper, making a total of 10 apples per child. You may need to do this step for younger children.

4. Help them cut out the apples. (If children have trouble cutting, provide precut apples.) Demonstrate how to glue the apples together in a vertical row. If desired, children can make an apple pattern (green, red, green, red, and so on).

5. Allow the glue to dry and then help them staple the row of apples on their paper strips.

6. Fit the strips around each child's head and staple in place.
