Materials

3 pounds (1.5 kg) medium-sized cooking apples

Vegetable peeler (adult only)Knife (adult only)Cutting board1 cup (240 ml) water2 teaspoons (10 g) cinnamon

Crock-pot3 3/4 cup (940 g) sugar1 teaspoon (7 g) ground cloves

Instructions

1. Peel, core, and slice the apples into chunks (adult only).

2. Put the apples, water, and cinnamon into a crock-pot to make applesauce. Cover and cook for eight to ten hours. (Savor the aroma!)3. The next day, mix the applesauce, sugar, and cloves in the crock-pot.

4. Turn the crock-pot on high heat and stir hourly for eight hours or until nighttime.

5. In the evening, turn the crock-pot to low heat and let it cook all night. The apple butter will be ready in the morning.

6. Fill small baby food jars with apple butter. Let the butter cool, and then refrigerate.More to doMake a fabric cover for the jar lid. Cut a piece of fabric into a circle. After screwing on the lid of the jar, place the fabric circle on top. Tie a ribbon around the lid to gather the fabric. This makes a wonderful gift for the children to share with their families.
