Instructions

1. Arrange the toy animals randomly about the floor of the classroom.
2. Ask the children to stand randomly about the classroom.
3. Ring a bell, which is the signal that the children begin to find an animal,
identify it by name, and then move like that animal.
4. Observe the children as they move about, then ring the bell again, signaling
the children to stop and choose a new animal.
5. When the children become adept at identifying the animals, consider
challenging the children to say something they know about each animal when
they pick it up.
Assessment
Consider the following:
* Can the children
successfully
identify the
animals when you
name them?
* Can the children
say something
about each
particular animal
they pick up?
