colored pictures (one for each letter of the alphabet) or computer and printer

4" x 6" index cards

poster board

scissors

laminator

pocket chart, optional

Instructions

1. When children are waiting for their lunch, ask them these silly questions to
make the time go faster. "What kind of super-duper sandwich would you
make for a monkey?" (or dog, rabbit, bird, and so on)
2. Ask them, "What kind of super-duper sandwich would you like to eat?"
3. Use the opportunity to talk about food and nutrition and healthy things to
put on a sandwich.
