Gryphon House, Inc. announces Little Walks, Big Adventures: 50+ Ideas for Exploring with Toddlers, an activity guidebook helping early childhood educators and caregivers increase toddlers’ understanding of the world around them. Using fun and adventurous local explorations, outdoor games and activities, this book advances toddlers’ academic growth and development.
Erin Buhr crafted an activity book that’s both fun and educational; it boosts toddlers’ vocabulary while also enhancing their language, cognitive, and motor skills. Intended for parents and caregivers of toddlers aged 10 months to three years, this comprehensive tool kit features a guide to how to use the book, what to bring on adventures, and how to extend the learning opportunities post-adventure through corresponding at-home or at- school activities. With various sections ranging from outdoor concepts, such as home and community, to adventures with vehicles and animals, toddlers will learn about their local communities and its many parts.
“While most activity books encourage indoor explorations, I want to show parents and teachers that countless adventures and learning opportunities await outside,” said Buhr. “I wrote this book to remind parents and teachers that going for a walk or exploring the local community can bring about much more than just exercise; it can support important cognitive and developmental skills that support later kindergarten readiness.”
