Materials

Brown tempera paint

Pie pans or mess trays

Brown yarn, cut in 8" (20 cm) lengths

Green construction paper

Instructions

1. Pour mixed paint into pans or trays.

2. Give each child a piece of yarn and one sheet of paper.

3. Ask the children to dip their yarn in the paint and wiggle it back and forth until it is coveredwith paint.

4. When their yarn is ready, have the children paint a picture of worms in the green grass by draggingthe yarn across their paper.More to doScience: Add a worm garden to your room by filling a large, clear plastic container with soil. Addapple slices and poke holes in the lid for air. Add worms and keep in a dark place while the childrenare not in class.
