2. Hang up posters of the two characters and explain to the children that they will vote for which character they would like to elect the class president.

3. Help the children make a voting box by covering a shoebox with white paper and sponge painting it red, white, and blue.

4. Hang streamers and balloons around the room.

5. Make ballot slips with the children by writing each character's name on different slips of paper and drawing pictures underneath.

6. Ask the children to come to the table, one at a time, and place a ballot slip with their favorite character on it in the ballot box.

7. Tally up the votes, announce the winner, and have a president's inaugural party with red, white, and blue cupcakes.
