Instructions

1. Hang pillowcases (one for each child) outside on a nice day. Hang them from
a tree branch or in an area where the children can splatter paint on them.
2. Put pie tins full of paint next to the pillowcases. Encourage the children to
splatter paint on their pillowcases using their hands, toothbrushes, or
paintbrushes.
3. This is a messy activity, so make sure children wear art smocks. Also put out
plenty of soapy water and towels for easy cleanup.
4. When the children are finished painting, encourage them to make invitations
for an art exhibit for their parents. Provide markers, art supplies, glitter, and
feathers.
5. On the day of the art exhibit, hang the pillowcases and place each child's
name next to his masterpiece. Set up chairs in the art exhibit area. When
parents arrive, encourage the children to stand next to their creations to
answer any questions.
