Materials

Styrofoam trays

hole punch

marker

long shoelaces or yarn

Instructions

1. Draw a large shoe shape on a Styrofoam tray. Make one for each child.
2. Use a hole punch to make two rows of holes down the center of the "shoe."
3. Show the children how to lace the string through, and how to crisscross in
and out.
4. Before long the children will do it over and over. Let the children take their
shoe home to practice with their parents.
