Instructions
1. Read the book In the Tall, Tall Grass by Denise Fleming to the children.
2. Pause to explain unfamiliar vocabulary.
3. Invite individual children to act out the action words in the book using their
bodies.
4. Read the story again and ask
the children to move as a
group and act out the words
in the story.
5. Create a Tall, Tall Grass mural
with the children creating the
animals and insects from the
story from construction paper,
paper plates, yarn, and other
scrap materials.
