Materials

large sack or bag

quiet materials, such as books, portable music player with a lullaby cassette,

stuffed animals, puzzles, a writing box, and journals

Instructions

1. Transition two or three children to the snack table at a time.
2. Encourage them to make "ladybugs" by spreading cream cheese or jam over
the cracker or cookie, and then placing raisins on top for the ladybug's black
spots.
3. Let all the children make their ladybugs before they eat their snack.

Outdoors: Go outside on a ladybug hunt. Use magnifying glasses to get a
better look. Encourage the children to count how many ladybugs they see,
remember the number, and record it when you return to the classroom. Tally
them for a total.
