Materials

White glue in squeeze bottles Silver glitter

Plastic wrap String

Instructions

1. In advance, make glitter-glue by adding silver glitter to white glue.

2. Give each child a piece of plastic wrap and glitter-glue in a squeeze bottle.

3. Tell the children to draw spider webs on the plastic wrap using the glitter-glue. Demonstrateby making lines that look like spokes and connecting the spokes with arcs of glue.

4. Allow the webs to dry. As they do, they will pull away from the plastic wrap.

5. Using string, hang the shiny webs around the classroom. Have the children sing the song,"The Itsy Bitsy Spider."More to doMath: Discuss the geometric shapes formed by a spider web.
