tiny rocks and small pebbles

basket or container

glue

cardboard

Instructions

1. Ask the children to bring rocks to school or collect rocks around the school.
2. Place the rocks in a basket or a container, and let each child choose 10 rocks
from the rock assortment.
3. Invite the children to place their rocks on a piece of cardboard. Explain that
they will make a pattern by painting the rocks (for example, green rock, blue
rock, green rock, blue rock).
4. Let the rocks dry and then invite the children to glue the rocks to the paper
in the same pattern.
5. Ask the children to talk about their patterns.
