Instructions

1. Every day when children arrive, have a different sign-in activity for them to
do. Before they arrive, print each child's name on a 12" x 18" piece of
construction paper. Have them do the following activities on different days:
* Use bingo markers to place on the letters of their names.
* Trace their names with glue and then sprinkle glitter, colored sand, or
other material on the glue.
* Roll softened modeling clay into ropes and place it on each letter.
* Paint their names with liquid starch and stick small squares of tissue
paper on each letter.
2. As the children become more interested in writing their own names, write
the letters of their names in dots and have them connect the dots.
3. When they are proficient in this, encourage them to copy their names from
an example such as a name card.
