Instructions

1. Provide several blocks, and invite the children to recite the following original poem, holding up the correct number and color of blocks as they are mentioned:BlocksWhite blocks, I have none.Orange, though, I have one.Blocks that are blue,I have two.Blocks green like the leaf of a tree,Of these, I have three.Yellow blocks, I have even more:I have four.

2. Count the blocks with the children, first one at a time, and then by color group.

3. Consider making up more rhymes for different colors of blocks, and increasing the numbers for children able to work with larger numbers.
