Instructions

1. Young children need motion activities to develop their balancing
system. Find a saucer used for snow sledding.
2. Cover the inside of the saucer (the concave side) with soft fabric.
3. Sit a child in the saucer and gently rotate it. This will challenge the child
to balance himself.
4. Place infants on their backs in the saucer. Gently rotate the saucer.
More to do Challenge older children to maintain eye contact as their positions
change.
Music: Play or sing a children's song as you rotate the saucer. Start with a
traditional song such as "Row, Row, Row Your Boat."
