Business-size envelopes markers scissors oak tag "mail" bag paper for hats

Instructions

1. Make labels for various things throughout the room, such as a desk, door, shelf, blocks, and sink, by writing the word on business-size envelopes and attaching the envelope on the item.

2. Cut oak tag the size of the envelopes and write the words of the labeled places on each one (desk, door, sink, and so on). This is the "mail." Place the "letters" in the mailbag.

3. Make paper mail carrier hats for each child by fitting a band around the child's head and attaching a visor made out of paper.

4. The child who is delivering the mail tries to match the "letters" in his bag with the signs throughout the room. When he finds a match, he places the mail in the proper envelopes.

5. If you would like to make this a self-checking activity, you can place a sticker or icon on the back of each piece of "mail" and a matching one somewhere on the envelope.
