Instrument Fun

Materials

rhythm instruments, such as drums, tambourines, and shakers

Instructions

1. Ask parents for donations of old socks (the ones without a mate are
great!).
2. Stuff the socks with fiberfill and shape into balls. Older toddlers can
help you stuff them. These create great indoor balls, especially for rainy
and cold days.
3. Let the children take turns rolling the balls to each other (in pairs), or sit
in a circle with all the children and have them roll the ball to each other.
4. Decorate different sizes of cardboard boxes and other containers for
children to throw the balls into for a quick game of "sock basketball."
