Materials

Pictures of signs magazines and newspapers scissors 9" x 12" white construction paper stapler glue markers

Instructions

1. Take a close-up picture of each child in the room. Cut out the head only.

2. Give each child a piece of paper. Encourage them to glue the head onto the paper and then draw any kind of dinosaur body they wish.

3. Encourage each child to name his dinosaur creation (for example, Katie-OSaurus and Ty-Matt-O-don).

4. Ask each child to dictate a few things about his dinosaur. For example, is it a meat-eater (carnivore) or a plant-eater (herbivore)? What does it like to do for fun? Where does it live?5. At lunch or at the end of the day, read each child's page to the class. The children love it!
