Materials
Clean, empty 4-oz. fruit cup cans
construction paper
scissors
bits of lace, ribbon, sequins, yarn, pompom balls of various sizes, and cotton balls
10mm wiggly eyes
white glue
cinnamon, optional
Instructions
1. Cut construction paper strips the width of the can.
2. Give each child a clean can and a strip to glue on it.
3. Cut out gingerbread man shapes from construction paper and give one to
each child.
4. The children can decorate the gingerbread man as desired. Provide wiggly eyes,
yarn, sequins, and so on. Ideas include a gingerbread boy, snowman, or Santa.
5. Ask the children to glue their holiday gingerbread design to their can.
6. If desired, encourage the children to spread glue on the design and sprinkle
cinnamon on it.
