Instructions

1. Encourage the children to explore two complementary birthday activities
in the Art Station. These could be for a special birthday celebration, an
imaginary friend, or the class mascot. Or have a "just because" birthday for
anyone and everyone!
* Play Cake: Let the children use playdough to create little cakes.
Encourage them to decorate their cakes with all kinds of collage
decorations. Provide a variety of objects for them to press into the
playdough to make designs (such as forks). Don't forget real candles! Or
let them make candles by rolling up a scrap of paper and coloring the
end yellow.
* Card Making: Provide a large supply of paper and other card-making
supplies for children to create unique birthday cards for someone special.
2. When the children are done, have a party!
