glue squirt bottle

glitter (red, gold, orange, copper, green)

Instructions

1. Read Why Do Leaves Change Color? Afterwards, discuss how leaves produce
sugar for the tree. Point out the veins and holes on a real leaf.
2. Let the children examine leaves with magnifying glasses.
3. Encourage the children to trace enlarged leaf patterns onto the construction
paper color of their choice. Then ask them to cut out the leaves.
4. Using the glue bottles, show the children how to dribble and squirt vein
patterns onto their leaves.
5. Encourage the children to sprinkle glitter onto glued areas.
6. Let leaves dry and place them on a bulletin board to display this beautiful
foliage.
