Instructions

What to do
1. Have the children trace and cut out the initials of their names from the tag board. Younger children
may prefer to just do the initial letter of their first name.
2. Invite the children to paint their letters.
3. When the paint is dry, the children can glue on decorative materials.
More to do
Circle time: Ask each child to hold up an initial and name the letter. Then have the rest of the
class repeat the letter in unison.
Game: Put all the letters in a pile. Select a child to come up and pick the initials of someone in the
class. The first person to correctly name the child whose initials are presented gets the next turn.
Music: Have the class sing the "ABC" song, with each child holding up a letter when it appears in
the song.
