What to do
1. Ahead of time, cut fishshaped
stencils out of
Styrofoam trays using an
Exacto knife (adult only).
2. Invite the children to place fish stencils on top of paper and trace to create fish outline.
3. Demonstrate how to color, pressing FIRMLY inside fish shapes with light-colored
crayon.
4. Ask the children to use sponges or brushes to paint a thin wash of the blue paint over the
whole scene, creating a sea.
More to do
More art: Make stencils of other sea creatures or vegetation. Use a large paper to make a "deep
