Materials

pressed leaves, ferns, and grasses

watercolor paper

scissors

watercolor paints or crayons

hole punch

thread or yarn

Instructions

1. Collect and press small fall leaves, ferns, and grasses.
2. Cut watercolor paper into bookmark shapes and give one to each child.
3. Encourage the children to paint or color their bookmarks. Allow to dry.
4. Punch a hole at the top of each bookmark.
5. Invite children to glue arrangements of pressed plants to their
bookmarks.
6. Laminate or cover with clear contact paper. Tie yarn or thread at the top.
