Instructions

1. Distribute two or four graham cracker squares along with a paper plate, bowl, knives, and spoons to each child.

2. Place enough frosting in each child's bowl to spread on the graham crackers.Let the children color their frosting by adding a drop or two of food coloring and mixing with a spoon. They can share the different frosting colors with each other. Note: Remind them not to lick their spoons.

3. Ask the children to spread colored frosting on their graham crackers, with each square a different color if they choose. Make sure it is thick enough to act as a glue for decorative items to stick to.

4. Encourage them to decorate their "quilt squares" with sprinkles, M&Ms, and mini-marshmallows.

5. When they are done with their squares, ask them to arrange all of the squares together on a paper plate.

6. Let the children use clean scissors to snip short pieces of licorice strings to act as stitches of thread. Demonstrate how to lay the strings across the seam of graham crackers to join them together, like a quilt.

7. Eat the quilt for snack!
