Instructions

1. These bottles are great to use for transitions because they have a calming,
soothing effect on children. Whenever it's time for children to calm down,
bring out the glitter bottles for children to manipulate and enjoy.
2. To make them, rinse out the bottles and allow them to dry.
3. Pour some of the filler ingredients into the bottom of the empty bottle. Add
baby oil or mineral oil until almost completely full, leaving only a small
margin at the top. If desired, change the concept a little and add something
special for the children to find, such as one small button among lots of
confetti.
4. Run a bead of super glue or hot glue around the neck of the bottle and
replace the cap.
5. The children can tip the bottle from side to side to see the glitter move
through the oil.
More to do
For a different effect, fill the bottle only partially with oil, and replace the rest
with water. Food coloring can also be added.
Holidays: For a seasonal glitter bottle, use confetti with a holiday theme. At
Halloween, it's fun to add black food coloring, plastic spiders, and wiggly eyes.
Science: Experiment with different kinds of oil. Some are denser than others and
have different effects on the fillers you use.
