What to do
1. Cover a work area in advance with newspaper and provide each child with a flowerpot.
2. Have the children paint their flowerpots with craft paint.
3. Invite the children to choose an assortment of buttons and scrap materials to decorate their
flowerpots. Using the glue gun, attach the decorations to the pots with glue (adult only).
4. When the glue is dry, have the children use a paint pen to add their name and finishing touches
to their pots.
More to do
Gardening: Plant seeds in the flowerpots and place them up on the windowsill in your classroom.
More art: Create a mural or book by drawing the outline of a garden scene on paper and gluing
the remaining scrap materials inside the outline.
