Large cookie cutters in simple shapes

What to do
1. Invite the children to choose a cookie cutter
to cut a design from a slice of bread.
2. Let the children spread peanut butter on
the bread "cookie" they have just made.
3. Give them birdseed to sprinkle over the
peanut butter.
4. Gently lift the shape and let the excess
seeds fall off.
5. Have the children poke a hole close to the
edge of their shapes with a drinking straw.
6. Allow the shapes to dry over night until
hard.
7. Tie a loop of string through the hole for
hanging.
