Materials
children's books on construction
children's tools (such as a hammer, saw, and screwdriver)
large Styrofoam balls (one for each child)
craft knife or scissors (adult only)
yellow paint and paintbrushes
oak tag cut into small squares
permanent marker
Legos(R) or blocks
Instructions
1. Connect six-pack rings with tape or staples to make one large rectangle or
square shape.
2. Hang it up at children's eye level, possibly on a clothesline that holds wet
paintings.
3. Let a few children at a time weave yarn, string, or ribbon back and forth
through the holes, as if they are sewing: over, under, over, under, etc.
4. Leave it hanging for a few weeks until it is full of colors and textures. This
makes a beautiful wall hanging and is great for hand-eye coordination.
